Since the very end of last season there were some indications that the troupe of performers at Emerald Beat were coming up on the end of their contract and they would not be renewed. It appears the show has been scrubbed from the park’s lineup… for now. I can confirm that the park is searching for “Superior Skilled Irish Dancers” and they are not joking with the “Superior” requirement.
So, it would appear that the show has been removed from the park’s site and the show lineup on a “just in case” basis. At this point, it’s hard to tell if Emerald Beat (or a similar show under a new name) will go on in 2010. It looks like it will depend on whether or not Busch can pull together a group of great dancers through their standard audition process.
UPDATE: I’m thinking it’s safe to say that Emerald Beat will not be making a return, but will be replaced by a similar show with a different name, which will perhaps include more live music.
Check out the requirements for the dancers HERE and feel free to discuss it further in our FORUMS.
